Simmons broadheads Q's

I would really like to try some in the 165grn. I think they are called the land shark. I know a lot of guys shoot these heads so I was wondering what you think of them? Are they fairly easy to sharpen? Are they quirky on flight? etc... From what I've seen of them they leave a heck of a hole. Just looking for a good two blade that I can stick with... No pun intended! :D

I use these for all of my deer bear hog turkey hunting (most other game too) - yes easy to sharpen - excellent flight.

Mine fly like field tips. Well built broadhead with great penetration. There was a post on here of pics of the damage these do.

Call Lee he is the one that put me onto Simmons. I absolutely love them. They fly great, tough as nails and are destructive! JMHO

Can they be sharpened with a file?

I know LCH and I both use the steelmaster which uses a file and ceramic rods. Very easy and quick! Makes them razor sharp

I think it was Ray Hammond who has a video on here. Where he shows how to sharpen regular broadheads with a file. I used his technique and I can get them razor sharp then use a steal and then they really sharp.

If you buy them new all it takes is a few light strokes with the ceramic rods on the steel master to remove the burr and they are razor sharp.

I use a round chainsaw file, then finish with a coarse croc stick, then a fine croc stick.

I get awesome flight from all of the land sharks. I have not shot the tree shark yet. The blood trails are incredible and short. I use landshark160's method to sharpen them and they are scary sharp. You can find his video on sharpening them in the how to section. The first section on changing the bevel with a grinder is no longer necessary. Just follow the part with the guide and jewel stick. Awesome broadheads. Can't say enough about them. I have settled on the interceptor, but I have also shot the 165's and they are great.

Between the amazing flight of these heads and the amount of damage they do I think everyone owes it to themselves to shoot a couple critters with them. After you do that you will probably be hooked for life!

Great heads , I always have a quiver full of them , like everyone says above fly great easy to take care of.....

Are you able to use the Safari out of a back quiver (Hill Style)? I was wondering if anyone did because the sides look like they may get hung up as you withdraw an arrow!
