As you have seen, many people have very strong opinons regarding bows. That's because there really are a lot of quality bows available. My advice is try as many as you can, so you can get a feel for characteristics that particularly appeal to you. I agree strongly with those who suggest you look in the classified section, as you can sometimes get a really good deal. Suffice it to say, though, that whatever longbow you buy, it won't be the last yo will ever want. Longbows are a true addiction. But man, what fun.

Check out the Longwalker that Chuck Deshler makes(Two Tracks). Great price, performance and some of the finest fit and finish you will find on any bow!

If you're looking for a "working man's bow", the Omega may just be the ticket.  I really like mine.  Fast, affordable, smooth drawing & fast.  http://omegalongbows.webs.com/

I don't think you can go wrong by watching the classifieds here on Tradgang.  Everytime I buy something off of them, I'm amazed at how great the people here are.

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Classifieds for sure. But for those wanting a new bow, if a hybrid is what I wanted I'd go with Omega, if a mild D/R was my goal I'd buy a Bear Montana or a Sky trophy, for the straight limbed if go Bama Hunter.
