I shoot a couple wood one piece recurves and a couple refles/deflex long bows I built.  Looking at picking up an aluminum riser recurve.  Anyone have one they like? Want to experiment with grips for it, etc.  Let me hear about it.  The Martin Jaguar as an example?

thanks for the input

I put together a Sky TDX 15" riser with 45# Black Max short recurve limbs....comes out to 56" and about 51#@28"...great shooting bow! If you really want to experiment, you should look into an ILF set-up. With so many great risers(both wood and aluminum) and limbs, you're options are practically unlimited

Now I'm thinking about getting some 40-45# limbs in medium or longs just to experiment

If you are not working to protect hunting, then you are working to destroy it.         (Fred Bear)

Go with ILF. You can often find cheap risers and limbs to start off and experiment with and then upgrade a piece at a time. Or start of top of the line if you want. You can spend as little as $150 off of the classifieds or easily up to $1000 or more. The nice thing is the ability to change and change back so easily.

I often hunt with a Greenhorn B+ riser from Belgium.

one thing to realize...they get cold! The metal will suck the warmth from your hands so insulate it or your hands well when the temp drops.

My only one is a Hoyt Gamemaster which I love. The Hoyt Buffalo is also a nice bow.

I just got a Morrison 19 inch ILF Phoenix riser and it is a great shooter! I ordered the low Jager grip with it and it quickly became my favorite.  It's easily changed with just a couple of screws.

If you are a RH archer the new Predator (Hunter's Niche) is fantastic - my son has one. I'm waiting on the LH riser.  The Sky looks good to me as well.

I think if something happened to my DAS riser I'de be on the phone with Bob Morrison. Can't wait to try his new MAX I limbs.
