I was thinking about ordering a bob lee recurve and was told to get the bicentinal with the micarta in the handle to reduce any hand shock if any.. My question is do the other less expensive bob lee 3 pc recurves have much hand shock?? and is there a big difference in the ones with the micarta in the handle vs plain wood handle  any info is appreciated. thanks   Robbie

The 2 wood riser Bob Lees that I had never had any hand shock. The only thing that I think the Micarta would do is make it heavier, which some folks like....I don't!

I have had 2 Bob Lees.  NO handshock in either of them!  I love them and would not hesitate to buy another. I am however, currently shooting a DALAA fro 3 Rivers and liking it immensly.

Im currently shooting a Bob Lee Hunter and it is quiet with very very little hand shock.  Never shot the bicentinal but sure would like to someday.  If you dont mind a little extra weight then go for the bicentinal and let us know what you think.

I have 5 B.L.'s, 2 one piece 60", 1 t/d l.b. 58", 1 t.d. recurve signature 58", and 1 t.d. ultimate recurve 58".  None have any hand shock, great bows with great service!  I will say the ultimate is a great shooting bow with the extra weight, very - very steady in the hand.

None of the Lee bows have shock.  The mickarta makes a better target bow as its heavier and more stable on the shot.  I however have and love the base all wood model as i prefer the pointablility of a lighter bow.  Talk to the Lee's and get the straight answer.

Also mine is as quiet as my Hill bow.

A Bob Lee Bow doesnt have any handshock. Fine bows and worth the money.

As all the above no hand shock from any of my three bows I now have and had two others. But I like my lighter short riser plain wood top bow than my bubinga/micarta bottom bow.I find it a little heavy and I got it with less micarta than standard bi-cent.I painted the top bow with patio furnture paint in brown.

If you want a bow that is very easy to shoot, tune and is just a flat out AWESOME bow then buy any Bob Lee. Bob Lee bows are fantastic, I have owned a bunch of them and every one I had, shot great! Bob Lee has been around for a long time and the design I believe is perfected. You won't be sorry if you get one. I always go back to a Bob Lee. GOOD LUCK

I have the least expensive Bob Lee takedown w/ long riser and it's pretty old. It doesn't really have any handshock. If I get another one I will get the micarta handle one solely because I like more mass weight in the handle. I like the long riser for the same reason.

My wife and I have 2 Bob Lee bows each.  Three are signature recurves, the other is a Hunter model.  There is no hand shock with any of these bows, or with the few dozens I have shot that belonged to other people.  I whole-heartedly recommend Bob Lee bows, and the people who make them.
