A.S.

As a few of you know, I have been "riding the bench" for several weeks. I sprained my shoulder about 8 weeks ago. It has been a very slow healing process. I had to miss the first week of bow season simply because I could not draw my bow.   :banghead:

Within the past week, I have had major gains in my strength. I still am far from 100%, but I have been able to shoot about a dozen good arrows the past couple days, before my shoulder gives out. I decided it was time to go climb in my favorite stand overlooking a couple huge white oaks this morning.

It took exactly 1 hour, and this happened.....

I had already decided that I was only going to take a close shot if given the opportunity, and that is exactly what happened. This ol' girl gave me a perfect 10 yard shot. I shot her with my Black Widow PSAX, 47@27, Axis 500 and 125gr Thunderhead. It left a blood trail my 8 year old son could have followed. It's a shame he is out of town this weekend.

Nice doe! Glad your on the mend, I have dealt with a shoulder sprain before, no fun. Sprains seem to take forever to heal don't they.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Thanks guys!  4 weeks ago I was not able to draw my son's 20# recurve. It has been a slow (at least it seems slow) healing process. I knew if I took a shot this morning that it would have to be a close one. I guess it helps to get lucky once in a while!
