As I sit strapped in iodine wreaking bandages once again, my mind keeps drifting to my past and future trad adventures.
Has anyone here taken a badger with trad equip.?
I have't been out west in awhile, and would love to build my own quiver out of one. I've built lots, but not from one I harvested.
I'd love to see pictures.....

I have put great shots on two badgers my last two trips to southern wyoming. Each time I was sickened when I they managed their way down holes before dying. They are are tough animals.
I have never seen one here in Massachusetts !

I had one come buy my tree last year.. tempted  me -- but I did not have small game license, did not know if 'badger season' was on and I was only 8 feet up a tree and I figured a pissed off badger can probably climb trees.  So no.

I want one in a bad way , would be a cool mount.....

I never seem to have my bow when I see them, but I really like that quiver. May need to try harder to connect.

I had one get chased off 2 years ago while I was turkey hunting by a hen turkey! Thought I'd seen it all at that point     Nice looking quiver, and I agree with the above posts it would look real nice to have a badger mount in my living room!

I arrowed one in Wyoming about 1993 when I lived there.  Wyoming is a GREAT place to get a badger and i can tell you spots where you will for sure locate critters but beware, you need an expesive fur harvesters permit to shoot one there!

What part of Wyoming? I'm familiar with Buffalo/Sheridan area......

I remember hearing about the fur harvester permit last time I gun hunted Wyo, only saw a roadkilled one both times Ive been.

Shirley Basin is thick with badgers.

Badger mounts are really nice ! have been lucky enough to mount a couple, just cool animals.

 
 

Wish I could post pics on here!  I killed one in south Texas a few years ago with my longbow.  Was going to make a quiver to hang up in my den but got talked into a full body mount.  Really glad I did.  They're gorgeous animals, but man that critter stunk!

These are tough critters and i have a tanned hide that amazes people with it claws alone.  We were chukar hunting on a ridge when we saw a dust cloud.  When we got there it was a badger digging up a ground squirrel.  He dug so farand fast as to disappear in about 3 minutes.  Amazing critters

I've never shot one,but I've watched my son shoot two.The first one was looking out his hole,the arrow went clean thru and pinned him to the ground.

I've killed a couple....tough critters indeed.  The first one got back down a hole after I got an arrow into it.   We could hear it digging away about 3 feet down and across from it's entrance.  We ran back to the truck, grabbed a shovel and crowbar, and dug another hole where the sound was, finding the badger.  We stuck the crowbar down the hole, and as the badger bit the curved end, pulled his head into the clear and shot him again, finally killing him!
