So my father took a class over the weekend so he can be an instructor in schools to teach archery.  Pretty great idea! Anyways, he recommended the string bow to help my kids as they are learning to shoot.  I googled it and found very little info on it, but from what I found on another forum site is there is a loop that goes around your wrist and it's connected to a big loop that goes through your palm on your bow hand to your fingers on your arrow hand.  It's just a string set to your draw length.  What I don't understand is the loop going around your wrist.  Anyone know the point of it.  Like I said I couldn't find much info regarding it and mainly just one site with pics and it look like you could make just one loop to go from your bow hand to your shooting hand and it would serve the purpose.

You're talking about the NASP boestring. I am a teacher and just got the training, a couple of weeks ago.  The string bow is an excellent training aid.

If I understand your question, the loop just keep the string from flying foward away from you.  Because you are using an open relax grip and back tense, the string should fly foward upon release.  The loop around the wrist just catches it.  It is a great training aid to work on a back tension release.
