I have two Pendleton wool shirts one in red and the other in blue both in a plaid type pattern and I was wandering if I would be ok hunting in them? If so some pics of you in your colored shirts would be cool to see! Thanks

I can't remember exactly where I read it, but deer see blue's very vividly. I think that you will be ok with the red plaid though!

... yes I believe DDH had an article years ago and they concluded that Deer see blues and yellows .

I learned in a physics course that a deer's eye sight is shifted more into the uv side of light which allows them to see blues much better than us. However they lose some of their ability to see reds which is why hunters can wear orange and red and still be ok.

Man all i wear is plaid flannel and wools. Got a few pendletons. I wear mostly earth tone plaids and green, brown,beige..... I'd stay away from blue.

Have no idea how many deer I have shot with my bows when I was younger wearing blue jeans, bucks and does  :bigsmyl:

I hunted in them again last year on the ground and in stands with a blue wool shirt and they all looked right through me like they do in camo.    :dunno:     ;)

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

Juan, Any of the plaids are good and the wool also doesn't reflect the UV like other materials can. Tracy's right on as usual the plaids work just as well as wool camo. The plus is if you're hunting on public land other hunters will ID you as human and not an animal moving.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

During gun season here in Mi. Red/Black Woolrich hunt coat was always the norm, hunters could see it and deer didn't seem to, never hunted in a blind and have had deer walk right up to me! Shot a couple with in 10 yards with no blind! Switched back to wool plaids for bow hunting except for real warm weather! Not sold on the commercial camo patterns and synthetic materials for concealment!
