please bare with the long story.. here we go.. 10-1-12 was opening day here in MS and it was a nasty day as far as weather with steady NW winds and misty rain with 3 plus inches already on the ground. the forecast was callin for it to slack up in the evening so me, my  brother (Longspur77) and dad (DrMO) decided to go try to gig one. Well, the NW winds kept one of us from going to a spot where we have 2-3 shooter bucks on camera , so we split up and decided to go to some food plots that had persimmons and bean trees, etc along with freshly sprouting wheat, oats and clover. at 500pm i get a text from my brother saying "Missed doe 1st shot, smoked her a## second shot". well, i wasnt sure whether it was him blaming the shot on his soaking wet coyote hair puff silencers affecting his bow performance, water logged arrow,  or just 1st day jitters, but he said it was the puff balls.haha apparently she didnt freat, because she just turned around and stood looking, and the second shot hit home, double lung at 17 steps from a homeade ground blind. so, we get all excited texting back and forth and what not, and several minutes pass, and I happen to look to my right and behind me and theres a little full velvet 8 pt and 10 yds.i ease up from my perch (in a loc on) and get situated and 10 yds behind him I see the top of a sapling swaying back and forth. The moment i saw that i told myself "stay calm". a mature 8pt was standing there thrashing the tree. needless to say that helped a little but not all the way. anyways, the two bucks walked by my shooting lane at 10 yds ( big 8 didnt hear me try to stop him) and into the food plot. the lil velvet buck presented a shot but I wanted big daddy. he stood at 15 yds for 10 minutes eating around a bean tree. Finally, after I regained my "cool" and wiped my drawers he walked into the food plot at 16 yds quartering away.the arrow was like slow motion , it found its mark lodging in the opposite shoulder and clipping one lung.I sat back down, as to not fall out of the tree because of the shakes, and texted dad and brother saying just stuck a nice 8 pt. To make a long story even longer, I waited till dark, climbed down, went and helped my brother find his doe, which ran 75 yds at most. His Big Jim 300 out of his Buffalo Bow put a hurting on his nanny. We drop his doe off at the camp and go look for my buck. Dad, brother, and I  trail my buck less than 100 yds following bubbly blood and find him dead next to a big thicket. He weighed in at 200 lbs, 6" bases, and was 5.5 plus yrs old. It was a night i will not forget. my first rack buck with my Roberston Fatal Styk Z 60" 55@28      (P.S. Dad missed a doe, I wish we had him in the pic too, but we had to have a cameraman    )
