anybody tried  4 feathers on their arrows? it worked wonders for my compound, my BH's fly great all the way to 80 yards, considering doing it to the arrows Ill shoot from my LB.

I have been shooting four four inch four fletch for years. This year I cut them down to 3.5"....they shoot just great!

I used to use 4-4inch on one bow and 4-3inch on another... They work well, but then I went with using 3 5 inch fletch to add another anchor point (fletching to the end of the nose when I went to 3 under shooting style...

Four fletch flys well... But likes non-skinny arrows....

I just wanted a lil more accuracy and consistency; I found it when I  made some changes to my set-up....

A buddy of mine just switch from 3-4 in to 4-3 shield cut and they fly great with broad heads, field points or judos. And something else we noticed, they are dead silent.

Yep....5 inch 4 fletch.....cause they are stable no matter anything....never have to worry at any time rain or shine - mud or snow....my arrows fly true.


Don't forget the 'no look nocking' feature....comes in handy when hog hunting!!!

Tried a set (4" shield) out of my 45# r/d longbow. They fly true, straighten quick, and give more clearance from the bow when nocking. Don't spiral as much as the 3 fletch 5 inch.
Both hit the same. Think you could go lower profile with the 4 fletch.

Making up 4 fletch as we speak....4 4inch shields....Im pumped about it and look forward to some great shootin' arrows  

I've always shot 3-5" shields but a month or so ago I fletched up some 4-4" parabolics and am loving the way they fly. Also really liking the fact that it doesn't matter how you nock them. They tuned up very easy and am currently shooting them with 2 blade Zwickey's, 2 blade Magnus' and with old Bear Razorheads minus the bleeders. All are shooting good and hitting right with field points. Later this week I'm gonna see how some Centaur Big Game heads shoot. If they shoot well they are what I'll be running for deer this season.

I had 4x 3.5" at 90deg for a while that worked great, but in the end I got tired of putzing around with fletching the pattern so I went back to 3x 4" shields and have been just as happy.

Was really easy to see those 4x fletch arrows in flight with hi-viz feathers though - you'd think they were on fire on the way to the target!

Been doing 4 fletch for about 1.5 years.  I don't think I'll ever go back to 3.
I think everything about 4 fletching is nothing but positive for hunters.

with the price of feathers these days it would take a goverment loan to afford to put 4 feathers on one arrow.

Not really, my alternative to a 4x4" is 3x5". But as i can make 2 4" feathers out of most full lentgh feathers but not 2 5" it is actually a bit cheaper for me.

Snag got me on the 4-4" shield cut on the Surewoods he made for me and that's my fletch from now on.
Like T said above the "no look nocking" is a great feature.

anyone ever use 2.5" parabolics with a four fletch? Im thinking about going to short feathers and was looking a four fletch.

Yep started shooting 4-3in high shields and they are shooting great and most of all they don't stick out so bad on the quiver and hold up better to wet weather as well.
