Looks good to me. I have been thinking about cutting mine in half. Everytime I do I get this picture in my head of it pinching my jewels and me screaming like a girl while deer run away laughing.   :D
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

I wondered about that, too, but even with thin shorts on it wasnt an issue. With huntin pants, it would never happen

JMR

That's cool i might have to try making a seat like that. Thanks for the laugh Rob W!

It don't have to be pretty.......looks like a good one to me. I would round off the front corners.....but that's just me!! Nice job!!

I'll take your word for the scissor effect but I won't be doing that to mine. My wife sent me to a doctor 15 years ago and it still haunts me. Looks good for you though!

Rob W. that reminds me of the time I was out hunting and I got a sharp pain in my stomach. I quickly stepped off the trail and dropped my drawers to take care of business. Just my luck, I squatted down on someone's steel trap and that thing fired closing up on my ...... Well you know. Let me tell you this. There's only one thing that hurt worse than that thing closing...... And that was hitting the end of the chain!!!!!  Seat looks good. Should work nicely

LA Trapper

Perry, that is why they have that big swivel in that chain in case you roll!!!!  LOL!

Hey TxAg,

Any idea what it weighs?
4 pounds.

Could definitely be made lighter if need be.

As far as how heavy....I took a hole saw and made mine look like Swiss cheese cut the weight a lot! Still plenty strong......just stagger the holes.

Great idea.  Does it squeak or make any noise?

TxAg

No noise to speak of....of course, i havent had it in the woods yet.

Seems like the other guys that have made them don't have any trouble with it. Maybe some will chime in

D. Key

Good job.  Just be sure the hinges are completely closed prior to applying butt pressure.  You might be sending a lot of noise into the woods if you get pinched.

I made my own Torges Seat but I have tried to use webbing instead of rope.  The problem is the webbing does not seem to work grip well and slides down the tree.

Perhaps I am putting it too high up on the back of the tree.  Do you guys use a fairly low angle on the rope?  See any reason why rope would be better than webbing?

Looks good buddy...good luck this fall.
