I read some where that some string makers was finding that different colors of string material of the same name, were different diameters?

I have a spool of D10 yellow, that is definitely bigger than the other 3 colors I have, and you can see and feel the difference when twisting them up.

How many out there are know to be different diameters within the same material and what colors are they?

I've never seen that but I only work with B50.

I bought some DF 97 about ten years ago that had differences from the two colors I had....

Doesn't happen that often anymore--white used to be consistently smaller in most materials--no dye.

There's no specific colors that run smaller anymore, at least that I know of.  Probably a slight variation in the dyeing process caused your problem.  I'd say contact BCY and get a replacement spool, but Dyna 10 isn't on the market anymore.  Force 10 x-bow material is supposed to be basically the same thing--that might work.

The solution, for me, was to add an extra strand of the smaller material to the bundle to even them out.

Chad, I have been using 8125 but now I see that old label material I've used has changed..  Which would be closest to the old 8125? I expect the diameters of the new has been changed as well?

You can mix 8125G and the origional Formula 8125, no problem.  The new 8125 just has Gore material incorporated to increase the durability.  It's a lubricant, kind of like silicone--diameter of the material has stayed the same.
