Does anybody here read an actual book on stand? If so, I found a website that will send out a "pack copy" of the Bible that fits perfectly in a daypack-and its in camo!

I keep a bible in my back pack and read when the action is slow.

I read ebooks when I hunt.  Can't make room for one book anymore whenI could carry a hundred in the same space.

I read all the time, helps break up the slow times, but I also remain very still and notice slight noises acutely.

I recently got one of those "Nooks".  I may bring it along with me this fall, but I don't know.  I'd hate to miss some movement in the woods while I was reading, though.

I ordered mine from Trinity Archery.com, and the nice thing is it was free. I bought my wife a nook last year for Christmas and she seems to enjoy it.

I have three backpacks, each specific to the hunting type I'm doing at the time...bow, black powder, or regular gun. That way I can grab and go. I keep a small camo Bibles in each one of them. I'll read it, and other books too, especially on all-day hunts.
The Nook sounds like that might be a good way to go too....

Always stock up on paperbacks for hunting season. Reading just adds another level of enjoyment to being out in the woods. Natures Library.

I prefer to read at home. When in the woods I spend the time listening and watching.

I read constantly on a stand.

I love to read, but only during turkey season when I'm in a blind.  I tried it once while deer hunting from a treestand, but felt I was missing too much around me.

When I'm on stand or in a tree all I do is hunt. I'm about deaf so my eyes are constantly looking for game. I can't even remember ever dosing off while on stand..or in a tree.

Once in the woods I'm too on edge to read. Nervous anticipation? Tuned in? whatever you call it reading doesn't go well with it.

yup  I read.  and look around at the end of every page.  Read all three of the "Hannibal Leckter books while camped out alone in the boonies.  One big scary bugga.

I've read in a turkey blind as well, but never in a deer stand. In the area I hunt, I don't see deer coming from a long way off. They're suddenly right on top of me. Little or no time to put down a book and grab the bow.

Mood dependent.  Sometimes I do.  I find it helps keep me more still, but it detracts from my attentiveness slightly.  I understand the arguments about not having a book as it distracts from the experience, but I usually have a good time either way.

My time in the woods is to precious to waste reading! I might be spending some time re-thinking the recent events but most of my time is spent just enjoying nature and "reading" the woods.

Never during early bow season.  Too much to see, and my ears don't work that well anymore.
