i pulled a trail can down by my mothers today and thought i would take a quick walk up the mountain and set it by a common deer trail. i was wearing a tank top, shorst and flip flops of all things as i had not planned to go up there but i had time so off i went. found 2 big berry filled bear poops that were fresh as could be on the way down, gives ya that funny feeling as you look at your toes and flip flop.... found the tree i wanted to use o a good trail. was kneeling setting it up when i hear hmmmpfffff hmmmpffffff! about 75 yrads away over a knoll! scared the Be-Jesus out of me!!!! i could then hear it walking and no doubt it was a pretty big bear that the locals have been seeing often. got the camera set and walked at a steady pace looking over my shoulder back on down the mountain. i have saw them often up there but that was the first time one had starteld me like that. can't wait to check the trail cam next weekend.

yaaaaaaa i am NOT the Alpha up there and that is as it should be. maybe YOU can wrassle with him when ya come up??

right by the second ground blind, bear was just down from there and over that little knoll, the trail cam is there now.

I am only scared of our griz. They really like to maul people and eat them.

you got that right crazy sister!!! that is why i LOVE BIG wilderness, mountains, rivers and creatures. they belong, they are the boss, we are a mere intruder for a few moments in time...

Something to consider when bears exist in your hunting area. Try growing some fruit trees. Apple, peach or even a pair.

the big boy is hanging around ONE loaded apple tree at the bottom of the hill, he has been spotted there a few times now. also feeding on berries where the mountain got logged a few years ago. i believe this is the bear that walked in front of Woodchucker last year in the rain.

That place sounds dangerous!!!I'm only huntn there this year if im with Drew. His old bones prevent him from outpacing me, and if worse comes to worse a sharp poke to the calf and I'm home free! Maybe even use him as bait!
