Hi guys and gals,
Just curious of what yall's favorite longbow is? I am kinda in the market for a 45-50lb range longbow. I have only ever had one other but it was too heavy, (learned from that mistake).

So, what's yall's favorite, smooth drawing, forgiving longbows?

I have looked at Northern Mist bows on their site and have no idea what grip I should look for.

Kinda thinking straight or locater style but not sure.

I believe my Draw Length (with recurve anyways) is 29" but need to verify.

I also shoot 3 under.

Too many options! I have a Big Jim TC, which I love. I have a Pronghorn, which I love. I have a Northern Mist Baraga, which I love. I just got a HH Wesley Special; I have had it two days, and I love it. None of those longbows are really very similar, but they are all great bows.

I think you started at. A good place looking at Northern Mist. I love them

Love my kohannah, but honestly, I have nothing to compare it to.

A couple of my favorite longbows are Black Widow PL V, Northern Mist Baraga(with the standard grip), and I recently picked up a set of Trad Tech ILF longbow limbs for my TT Pinnacle II riser....they shoot very nice, I'm really liking them alot

I love Pronghorns. I have added one more since I took this pic. Herb's bows are smooth, quick, and quiet. Can't go wrong with a Pronghorn. Made one bow at a time by one guy, Herb.

You may already know this but I'm going to say it anyway, it doesn't matter what my favorite longbow is, the only thing that matters is what your favorite longbow is.  You need to shoot as many different bows as possible, learn what you like in regards to grips, pre-load, profile and feel on release, then you will know what you want.  Course then you will have to try all the other bows, just to make sure.

That's actually what I'm planning on. However, I thought to get some insight from you guys couldn't hurt either.    I don't have alot of options in trying different bows out right now as I live in Mustang, OK (Not any good trad shops that I'm aware of) and I work every single weekend so, shoots are out for me. The only things I know I want are lower grip (than recurve), smooth draw to my DL, quiet shooting, forgiving bow . . . is that asking too much?

If you are on a budget the Omega is the ticket. It shoots a fast arrow, but it is a utilitarian bow.  Mine throws a serious arrow down range!

If you have a bigger budget Bamabow is the way to go.

I am a fan of reflex/deflex longbows.
