Just got a Pac Fab tab from 3 rivers. I think its a good product and the way to go but I'm staying with my Dura-Glove for this years deer season. However, I intend to practice with both the glove and tab. Its just taking me longer to adapt.

Tabs, like gloves, are not for everyone. I started with a glove and switched to a tab. Will never go back. Shoot what your comfortable with and enjoy the experience. "Keep"Um Sharp".  :dunno:

I know a few guys that can go from tab to glove interchangebly. I can't. My point of impact changes.

I can shoot with either one but prefer the glove.

I started out with a glove, but quickly changed to  tab. I found out I get a cleaner release with a tab than with a glove. I never went back to a glove. This change happened 48 years ago.

Good thread.

I'm newbie and shoot a glove but recently was offered a tab. Apart of a big diference in feeling my point of impact changed to the right (I'm leftie).

Is this the normal deviation?
Don't hunt to kill, if I kill is because I've hunted.

I like a glove but recently switched to a Cavalier tab.

I like the glove for the general convenience, but especially  when hunting.  I cut three finger tips off a buckskin glove and wear it over the shooting glove.

The problem is I am prone to seriously cracked finger tips and cuticles and they come on strong in the fall.  If I get one in the wrong place it is very painful to shoot my bow and I don't need any more challenges.

The Cavalier tab has a finger separator and it makes a huge difference in being able to shoot with split, bleeding, and painful fingers.

I haven't used the tab for hunting yet, we'll see this fall.  The glove is tough to beat for convenience, hope the tab is ok.

I have never shot with a tab.  How do you do it in cold weather?

I was wondering the same thing.

Asked my neighbor the same question. He cuts off the index finger from a glove.

During the winter I wear a thin wool glove and use a larger than normal tab, been doing this for more than a few years. Always wore grooves in gloves the few I tried so always stick with tabs.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

One can wear a mitten with the tab already on the finger.

Or you can do what a quarterback on a football does. He wears a pouch in front of belly. Have the tab already to shoot on the hand and keep both hands in the pouch to keep your hands warm.

When the animal is near, take your hands out and you're ready to shoot.
