Sure glad i shot it one last time before I posted it up for sale on the Trad. Bow forum.
Ive got a sweet little bow that i was gonna put up for sale, so I thought id shoot it one more time before I posted it, im glad I did because I noticed an almost invisible crack at the point where the shelf and riser meet, which was hidden by the rest and rubber grip.
Once i removed the grip i found that it goes down the center of the handle approx. 2 1/2 inches!
Sure glad i didnt post it, and have it break in the hands of another.
Looks like its a wall hanger for now, till i get time to do some major repairs (if possible).

Bad for me, but id rather sacrifice all my bows than see someone hurt or sell something that I new wasnt right.

Can you get some URAC or superglue down in the crack?

I admire your integrity. Good man.
Post a pic of the crack and I'll bet you will get some good info about how to repair it.

Not an entirely uncommon crack to happen right at the shelf like that. I have repaired a few with Loctite 420-and they luckily are shooters again; but you are right to not sell them...........they would always be on your mind!

Suprisingly there are still some honest folks around! Very nice, proud to call you a Trad brother!

I've got a bow with a crack like this running down from the arrow shelf about a third of an inch (only in the glass not the wood). Is this an indication the bow is not structurally sound?

I tried to get some superglue into it but the crack is so tight it didn't penetrate....

I feel ya. Picked up a BPH-52 a couple of months ago and contemplated selling it. Was shooting it the other day and it popped at the bottom fade. Real glad I hadn't decided to sell it.

Im gonna take time to work on it this weekend, and hopefully my luck will hold out, since ive repaired 3 others with the same beak, with great success.
This old Stotler was my last save, same crack, 3" deep in the handle where the shelf and riser meet. [/IMG]
