There is no Bear season in the center of the state, for any weapon!

Yeah, no season in Dolgeville.  Need to get north of route 29.  When I lived there - In Salisbury Ctr, my grandmother lived right on the line, halfway between Dolgeville and Salisbury. Behind her house was NZ, across the road where we hunted as well was SZ.  But no bear season across the road on the SZ, even with the recent expansion.

Well brothers, I had one of the best weekends without ever coming to full draw. Saw a total of 35 deer and 2 fisher traveling together!  Cool as heck!!!  Belly crawled into 20 yds on a 6pter and a doe at 2 diff times and put on 3 other stalks that got me from 20 to 12 yds. just AWESOME!! never pulled back but it was absolutely fantastic. Also had a few spikes directly under my stand at two diff times. Love that ghillie suit!!!

Good luck all!!

Good news - Bad news.....LOL!! Went this mourning and set up with a good wind in a spot where I have seen a few deer before. Had on my new to me Shaggie long coat and hat seated on my Pac-seat. At 7:15 I looked to my left , when I looked back a doe had stepped into my shooting window, broadside at 12 yards. Where she came from I have no idea. She looked like a 3-D target standing there, I looked down at my Silvertip laying in my lap....can't move. At times it seems like she was looking behind me at something but she  never spooked or stomped. She just fed back the way she came and got together with another doe. I think the shaggie coat works for one thing....I now have cut a porthole in the brush to see deer coming, and I also put a spot right across from this one if the wind is from the west. I saw 2 deer, that's half way to my annual average and it's early yet   :biglaugh:

It was fun Manny, I think not seeing deer very often makes you not expect to see them....and them wham, there they are...LOL!

I was in my stand at 3pm as the Weatherman said it was going to rain at 5pm due to a cold front moving in. I figured the deer would be hitting the acorns in this spot but no luck. Seen a ton of squirrels but then again I wasnt in my prime early season stand. If the wind is right im gonna hunt low in the swamp maybe I can stir something up!
