I have some great information to tell and posted it but decided it was not my place to do so.  So then I edited it.  But all the whitetailers on here will be excited about it when it comes out!

jonsimoneau

And yes Randy..I've got a little time on my hands tonight!

jonsimoneau

Ok.  I changed my mind after seeing that Marc Anthony already has it posted on his website.

Don Higgins put together a new whitetail hunting book that will for sure be well recieved amongst any deer hunter.  It has multiple contributers including Uncle Gene and Barry, Roger Rothhar, Mike Mitten, and Marc Anthony.  But also a very exciting part is that Alan Foster and public land master Bobby Worthington have also come out of the woodwork to contribute!  I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.  Marc said it will be ready possibly by the end of the month!

I should add that both Don Higgins and Marc Anthony have posted this info on public internet forums so I felt it was OK to break the news here since I know many on this site will be quite interested in this.

Jon, yes it looks like it will be a high end version of Bertalans "Whitetail Masters".  I am looking forward to it too.

Roger Rothhaar told me about it a few weeks ago, and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy.

Great to hear, I have the book Steve mentioned.  Great info for any whitetail enthusiast

Jon, Yes the book is being laid out now, but has not gone to print yet, so I do not want to put any timeline to Don's efforts. In the mean time, if you are looking for a great read on mature whitetail buck hunting, Bobby Worthington has just come out with a new book called Passion Quest. I think you will find it very helpfull. Mike

I must have read and re-read whitetail masters 100 times when I was a kid.

Thanks Mike. Yep the one Bobby has out now will be on its way to me soon. That book should be excellent. I love everything he writes!

Bobby Worthington- Is a great archery shooter. He laid up his recurve for over 15 years, but picked it up again a couple of months ago and beat nearly everyone at a recent high-end shoot. After meeting with him, I think we may have him changed back over to hunting with his traditional gear. He missed a huge buck back in  '96 with his recurve. Yep- been there, done that! Ha! Its such a mental game, and sometimes its tough to get past the mistakes. We all deal with in different ways.

Hello Gary- Missed you in Nashville. UB is doing OK, but had to stop and rest a few times getting to his hotel room.... then again that Opry Land resort is a huge in door garden! Mike
