Very nice Clint....  called a local tree service here in Central California to see if they have seen any trees here...  we have just about every other plant that grows in Australia. He said he is not sure but would ask around???

I did find some Red Ironbark "Eucalyptus sideroxylon" that I'll give a go...  stuff is all over California  :)

That is some very cool looking wood...  well done Clint   :)

Great job Clint!!!! Now go shoot a critter with it and post up the story and pics.

Congrats on a job well done, my friend.

Very nice bow, Clint, The wood is beautiful, the tiller is about perfect and the draw weight should work on them tough ole' buffs you have down under.
My only concern would be the shortness of the pin nocks. If drawn just a bit farther the string could slide off. It would be an easy fix if you decide to.

Nice job on the bow, and I like the wood. Good luck with it.

i actually made the nocks a bit shorter than they were. you guys might be right. when i get a rawhide string made for it i'll reassess them as the rawhide loop will most likely be thicker and have less nock overhang.

cheers, guys.

That bow is awesome. I love primitive, I built my first selbow last year and hunted with it. No meat on the ground but trying to get within 15 yds of deer was the best fun I have had in a long time.

It seems funny but in the last 2 years I have gone from an ACS Longbow, HH Longbow, to a selbow with cane arrows. If this keeps up then next year I will be deer hunting with a large rock!!
God Bless
