My Breeding RMR T/D recurve with new, 63", 46#@28", Walnut core, Cedar veneers limbs were put in the mail to me today by Troy.     :D      :D     Below are some pics he emailed to me of the newly completed limbs and the riser he completed last month.

I'll be taking additional pics, posting them and filing a report on the new limbs when I receive them early next week!  I should note that the riser is highly figured Bubinga and Birdseye Maple and has a stippled grip.  The Bubinga actually looks like a gorgeous piece of Cocobolo.

Hope your happy with it Bill. Your the second person this year to request another set of limbs. The first was on a takedown longbow I made several years ago.

I'm working on a 60" recurve for my wife that is ready to start sealing. Should be finished with it next week. I've also started another 62" for myself.

After that I'm finished making bows for a while. Guess I'm about burnt out. I've made more bows this year than I have in the past 5 years.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Below are some pics Troy sent to me when he first built the bow.  They show more truly the colors of the woods in the riser.  The closeup also highlights the stippling of the grip.  Please note that some of the pics were taken before Troy got enough epoxy on the riser to seal the pores and before he applied the final finish and steelwooled it to eliminate the shine.

Brock,

Hammer forged knives came before the arrows. Several years before.....

I used to do alot of blacksmith work.

I picked the bow up at the Post Office this morning. I took it to The Archery Shop where I opened the package, assembled the bow and shot it.

Suffice it to say, the pics don't do the bow justice. The Cedar veneers are a great combination to match the figured Bubinga and Birdseye Maple in the riser. And the bow is very smooth drawing, very quick and a very accurate shooter to boot. Troy did an outstanding job on this set of limbs! And the riser speaks for itself!

I'll try to take some pics Monday and get them posted.

Brock,

I don't take anything to the woods on August 15th.  It's entirely too hot for me that early in the season.  I don't go to the woods until after we have a few frosts.  But, on that frosty morning I do go, you can rest assured I'll be carrying this bow!  :)   :)

I built a new flemish string for my bow today, a 20 strand Brownell XS2 black and red string.  The new string plus switching back to my Grizzly Stik Sitka arrows resulted in an improvement in speed, quietness and accuracy of shooting.  The bow is a pleasure to shoot as well as being a pleasure to look at.  I've had some bows that were real  lookers, but I do believe this is the best looking bow I've had the privilege of owning.

Below are 3 new pics I took of my new Breeding RMR T/D recurve with Eastern Red Cedar veneers on the limbs.

I might add that the antler limb bolts were built by Frank/Shelly and the string is a new Brownell XS2 flemish string I built for my bow.  I added beaver balls to the string for silencing material.

Great looking bow Bill. I have always wanted some cedar in a bow and that makes me want it more.
