Hey fellas Ive got a couple issues of Primitive Archer and Traditional Bowhunter, and I was thinking about subscribing to one or the other, I think I like Primitive Archer a little better but was wondering which one you guys like best.

The Singing Bowyer

I like getting them both. That way, I get something to read each month...

If you are a do-it-yourself type, I would go with PA. PA also has a great Message Board that you can get some great info from.

I've been a subscriber to both since their beginnings. I am partial to PA because I am a wood bow and arrow builder(and I am a moderator on the web site) but I also like the hunting articles in TBM. I used to get Bowhunter Mag also but got fed up years ago with the commercialism and see TBM going that route. I know these mags need revenue but I personally don't like the gloss and glitter. PA is sorta getting that way also. Pat

ps. I only hope the new owners of TBJ can keep up the standards that Brian has kept over the last couple of years. I have subscribed to TBJ since the beginning also.

Both are great magazines.  Subscribe to both, I do.

I like PA but I'm a little biased as I am one of the Assoc editors and do quite a bit of writing for them. It covers stuff that I am most interested in, hunts I could actually make, build alongs and covers some history too.

The Bowyers Journal is a new magazine to the market (just over a year old) which covers wood and glass bows, hunts I could actually make and build alongs as well. I like it alot and do some writing for them as well. Lots of Tradgangers contribute to TBJ.

TBM while being a fine magazine and the "slickest" of the three, usually covers glass bows (although they are starting to cover wood bows), usually are about hunts I'll never be able to make (but enjoy reading about).Don't do much in the way of build alongs (that I recall) but do cover some history from time to time.

I have been as subscriber to all three since they started (as well as the now defunt Instinctive Archer which I really enjoyed as well)

I subscribe to Primitive Archer, Traditional Bowhunter and the Bowyer's Journal. They are  all very fine magazines. Jawge
