It aint the Marriot, but its close enough for me. Deer camp and my short weekend hunts just got a little easier and more comfy after finding this 100.00 dollar cutie. Its a 1967 Skamper popup, that needs about 20 hrs of TLC to be called home. It comes equipped W/ a 2 burner stove, sink, ice box, and sleeps 4, what more could a guy ask for in deer camp.
Just goes to show that there are still good buys to be had if you keep your eyes peeled.   [/IMG]

Nice find.    Take pics as you fix it up.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

That will work. Look's like you have storage for a couple un-strung longbows up front there.  :D

Will do Rob, it had a little water damage in the rear, which after about 4 hrs work is nearly new, and the front will be the same. For a 67 the canvas is awesome, but some of the seams need to be restitched. In 67 they built this thing to last. 45 yrs later and 20 hrs of labor and this thing will rolling down the road, ready to hunt once more.

Hey man ,any port in a storm. I think you can have a real good time hunting out that beauty!!

That will turn out well with some elbow grease.  A pop up beats sleeping on the ground for sure!

Trap, you aint wrong my friend, you dont wake up to the sounds of the woods at the Marriot.   :coffee:

SportHunter

Did a project like that a few years back, check the tire condition and consider new bearings & a spare tire.

moleman

Thanks for the heads up SportHunter. It has a spare which is like new, but I will for sure check the bearings and rubber that are on her now.

Good luck with it! it will sure beat sleeping on the ground in a tent.

Take pictures as you go and keep us posted. That will make a fine hunter and easy to pull also. I did one last summer on a old, short 5th wheel. It took more than 20 hours, but I'm happy with the outcome.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

Keep an eye out on craigslist.. My buddy Doug picked up an old Coleman pop-up this winter for $150. Guy that had it basically wanted it out of his yard and had'nt opened it up in years.  Floor, frame and roof were in good shape.  We popped it up and the canvas had some major holes from mice and rot.  Doug took the canvas down and started patching, then cleaned it out and scrubbed it down. It ain't pretty but we'll hunt out of it this fall.
