Here is a pic of the first 10 point of this year (there is usually 2 of them, then they dissapear come September).  I have had a couple 9's and a bunch of smaller ones in the last 2 weeks, but this is a very respectable deer.  I must have some really screwed up genetics in this herd.  About 1/2 of all the bucks have something wrong with their left antler, and there is a really nice 9 point with a drop tine on his right.

These trail cameras are pretty darn cool.  I really wish now that I had bought one a whole lot sooner than this year.

All I will say (for obvious reasons) is that is closer to you than it is to me, and yes, it is on public land.  I got off work today, grabbed my oldest son, and made the drive North.

I think it is just the way the sun is hitting the nasty summer coat.

Very nice, Trail cams are fun.  I just got my first coyote photo.  I was out getting some ground blinds ready yesterday and saw a nice 8 pt, and a smaller 6 pt.

Nice. I have been having fun with my first cam.  I get a lot of picts with nothing.  Either it is to sensitive or its trigger is a bit slow.  Mine is a Primos x-cam.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Love the windy days getting tons of photos with no animals!

Looks good Mike  :)  Hope you're healing well

Healing just fine Ryan.  Thank you for asking.

I too got a whole bunch of wind blown pictures in the last week.  Guess the sensitivity is set just right, at least in my eyes it is.  I'll gladly take pics of grass instead of no pics anyday.

Agreed, not like you pay to develop them at the 1 hour photo anymore!  Also its funny sometimes if you look at them in sequence with the slight difference you can pick up parts of animals in the background of a photo that I almost deleted thinking wind.

Nice lookin buck Mike. Good luck with him this season!

We went and pulled the camera from there last night.  Just trying to locate where they are all coming and going from now.  Time for a little long range surveillance.
