This will be my first year hunting with traditional equipment and I also just ordered another climbing stand.  I was looking at a New Dawn Outdoors bolt-on bow holder when I realized I have a little problem.  I'm right handed, so I want my bow on my left side.  This would be just fine except that I ordered an Eagle's Flight quiver which sits on the right side of the bow--the side that would be up against the stand if I had the bow on my left side.  

I don't have a bow holder yet so I haven't actually been able to try it and make sure there's a problem, but that setup just doesn't seem like it will fly.  Seems like the arrows in the quiver will prevent me from putting my bow in a holder on the left side. I'm at a loss...what do you guys do about this?  I'd really rather not hold it the entire time.

Thought about that.  I have one that I always used for my compound but I was hoping to find something faster and simpler.  Only takes a minute or two to screw it in, I know, but a few minutes here and there adds up.  Seems like it invariably takes me 20 minutes to get settled in.

I know you would like it on the left side of your platform,but I had the same predicament when I started using a bow quiver and just put the holder on the right side.No biggie!

I use a standard screw on two prong bow holder and haven't had a problem with clearance on the left side of my platform.  Give it a try, my recurve sits nice and snug, I hope you find the same.  Might be different for a long bow though.

My bow holder.... Lay it on your lap, or use a hook screw on a nearby limb...I, too, don't use a bow quiver in the tree.

I am also right handed but have the same issue that the bowholder I have mounts to the right side of the stand because of the quiver.  I have to be honest that I thought it would be an issue, but it's never proven to be a problem.  I've never had any trouble getting bow-in-hand when game is coming in.

Same as the others...would be nice to have it on the left but having it on the right is not a big deal.

I remove my quiver when in the stand, bow holder on my left and can be removed to shooting position without much movement. Our deer are very smart and watch the trees for anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks all.  My quiver is a 2 piece and it wouldn't be very fun to try to take it off in the tree.  Since a few of you have mounted the holder on the right and don't seem bothered by it I think I'll give that a try.

I am my own bow holder...don't use a hanger.
Since my hearing is not as keen as it use to be, critters have been sneeking up on me, so I want my bow in hand, or laying across my lap.

This will be the first season for me to have mine mounted on the right as I will hunt quiver on.

I use a simple clamp on bow holder that has a u shaped section that hods the bow.  It can be removed and inserted so it sits outside, or inside the climber rail. Depending on my arrow length I keep it on the outside and adjust the angle so it holds the bow almost straight up.  Since the bow can suspend at almost the tip I have not had and issue.  If I do I reverse it so the bow is on the inside of the climber rail and the arrows have no clearance issue.

Set the holder on the front of your stand.Helps to break you up and its right in front of you less movement if the deer is on your left side.

I will also try to find trees beside the one I am climbing in to give me some back cover so I'm not silhouetted. Those branches make great bow holders.
