As the title says a price increase on the Grizzly broadheads is unavoidable.  I thought it better to inform everyone here why rather than to just raise the price with no explanation.   It's simple really. There are 3 reasons for this price increase.
1)   All  Grizzly broadheads  will now be Teflon coated.  The Teflon is a vast improvement over paint. As many of you know I have struggled to try to find a paint that will hold up with little to no success. Teflon was the answer but they don't apply that stuff for free.
2)   The new packaging and art work involved.  The packaging was another issue that had to be resolved. The old Ziplock baggies just are not made to handle braodheads. Especially now that they are ground completely to the edge and the tips are ground sharp as well. Not only  that but our insurance required it.
3)   The grind its self. It takes quite a bit longer than we initially expected to put this  grind on heads this hard.  The long single bevel requires removing a lot of stock.  For example the Kodiak 200's require removing 40 grains of 52-54 rockwell  high carbon steel. Trust me when I say it does not go willingly.
There you have it. These are the reasons for the price increase.
The new price for a 6 pack of Grizzly broadheads is $38.95
The new price for a 6 pack of Grizzly Kodiaks is $41.95
IF YOU HAVE A PREORDER WITH US. Your quoted price will remain the same. I will honor that old price for your heads.

Thank you for increasing the price instead of cutting corners to make them cheaper to produce.

Unavoidable but not unexpected.  If you can't make a profit you're not in business you're in charity and that doesn't pay the bills.  Congratulations on a fine product at a very reasonable price.  A tiny increase such as this will not deter me from purchasing more as I need them.

Sounds more than reasonable to me. Still love those heads.

That price is more than fair.  But fair is in the eye of the beholder.

Still a great price on great broadheads.

A good initial grind alone is worth the price increase. Saves much time and trouble.

Its good to see that you're open with your customers.  In not going to lie and say i have bought your products. I've always been leary of the price of some points and have been a customer of zwickey ( just got six new heads today in the mail for extras).

I know you must have come up with lots of ideas on how to cut costs, but i will shoot a couple of ideas.

Could you grind an edge onto the heads before you heat treat them and then hone the edge after heat treating? Or do you just use steel that's already hardened to cut blanks from?

Is the finish on the blades that important? What about just parkerizing the steel and soaking it in mineral oil?  The blades of old were either blued  or painted and they hold up pretty well with years of use.  the parkerizing is just an acid bath to pit the surface to absorb oil.  What about having them dipped in sodium nitrate?  That creates black chroming. That won't wear off anytime soon. They treat tools, bolts, and gun parts with sodium nitrate.

Packaging won't work with shrink wrapped plastic on paper backing? It would hold the blades in place so they can't move to cut their way out easily. They package knives that way.

Bill,

It is also "understandable"!!!

I say good for you; I am glad you willing to produce such a quailty USA made product, even if it costs a few dollars more.

Bill is one of the good guys, and this world world would be better off with more men like him.

I like the fact that you are open with your customers. Good customer service is increasingly rare these days. I have never tried the broadheads but after reading this I belive I am going to give them a try this season.

I think they should be free because we all love each other.

Works for me! Still a darned good deal.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Not bad for 6 broadheads ........... in comparison.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Every head we have to be ground (about 8000) is Teflon coated. Ron is bringing some to Denton Hill that he is finishing up this week. That will be the first look at the Teflon coated heads.

Hopewell Tom

Still sounds fair, I'll be getting a pack or two.
I prefer a quality product, fairly priced.
Good explanation and much appreciated.
