Hey gang.
Playing with carbons for the first time...

My shafts came with super nocks.
I like the way they fit my string.
...just don't care for the color..

Are "S" nocks the same in string fit as super nocks?
Looks like it's just a way of calling the translucent nocks another name...

Thanks

S nocks were the first "Uni-nocks"  Now there is also G nocks and X nocks.

X nock

G nock

X nocks suck, and are the root of all evil.

Yes S-nocks are Super nocks,a S-type nock is designed to fit arrows with a .246 ID.Like alot of standard 5/16" carbon arrows and aluminum arrows with a uni-bushing 20XX and larger. For Axis that take the X-nock there is another replacement from Bohning. They call it an Bohning A-nock,they have a slightly larger throat then the X-nock.For arrows that use a G-nock,they come in too different sizes.A large groove G-nock with a .098 throat and a small groove with a .088 throat.

Hmmm.  Just trying out a few carbons myself, but I haven't had a problem with x-nocks. On the other hand, also using what I think is an S nock made by Bohning that has little protrusions at the inside beginning of the string groove. They don't slide on the string as smoothly.  Seem to hang up and need to be pushed/pulled over that little hump. Don't like those as well.

:knothead:

So..it sounds like I could get some easton "S" nocks and they would fit my string just like an easton super nock...right?

Thanks

For Easton Super nocks, the Easton 3D Super nocks have the largest and deepest and smoother throat of the S-type nocks I've found. They are different from the regular Super nocks. The 3D Super nocks are my favorite S-type nock. They fit great on my strings with a finished serving diameter of .108 to .110,they fit right along with large groove G-nocks.

JRY309, Thanks for the info on Bohning A nocks.  And also thanks for the heads up on the two sizes in G nocks (I didn't know that)

My issue with X nocks is the goofy sizing, and the way they throat them.  They were never meant for finger shooters.  If you get a string served where it will hold them tight, the come off like crap...  S nocks and G nocks have always worked well for me, and of the two I prefer S nocks.

X2 on the "thank you", JRY309. Good info to have.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

I like the larger looking throat size on the 3D nocks, in a GT do you need a baggie to snugem up?

I know on the Super Uni-Nocks I do need a bit..

Thank you

I thought 'S' nocks were Standard Nocks.
