My wife, daughter and I went to Greater Kuduland last July for two weeks of awesome adventure.  As soon as we returned, we began thinking about when we will return.

We're sorry we missed meeting Paul, but needless to say, there were plenty of "Too Short Stories" passing around the campfire.

You asked two questions...

Bob Burton of Whispering Wind made the shafts for me.  They are diamond wood and with dip, feathers, and 125 grain Magnus, they weigh 960 grains.  These are the arrows I used to take two Water Buffalo and one Cape Buffalo.

Penetration was all the way to the far rib cage, where the arrow finally stopped.  Since I was shooting UP at a steep angle, I got about 20 inches of penetration.  These old bulls stand about 18 feet tall at the top of the head.

Welcome home Paul.  What do you have lined up for this fall?  I have to make it to Africa with you....

Gene Wensel

An 18 foot tall giraffe versus a 3' 10" midget with a stick. Now there's a fair contest. Why don't you pick on animals your own size? May I suggest a dik-dik next time? Where are you going to put a giraffe rug in your motor home????

paleFace

LMAOROF!!! Gene you're killing me. here we go again with round 2 or was it 200.
Wensel vs. too short...

Gene, It won't be a rug, it'll be one of those car covers for the entire motorhome!Paul said he had to get on his knees to shoot up to that thing. How short is his bow?

Littlefeather

Gene, the Giraffe rug isn't for the inside. He's putting it on the outside so it looks cool when he's driving. The set-up comes with a fuzzy hat and big sunglasses. LOL!

Ooopps! Guess I should read what Marty says before I post. CK

Good point Marty. His lower limb HAS to be very short, even if he was aiming it toward the heavens! Can you imagine the dwarf shooting from his knees? The giraffe probably thought he was a dung beetle.

One of the Short Crews; Paul, Johann, Kiwi and me.  Johann had to squat down to stay in the picture:
