I was just curious what everyone's favorite way to hunt whitetail deer with a long bow is. (tree stand, ground, blind, brush, stalk, ect.) I will be taking my longbow out for my first trad bow hunt.

Off the ground, with some type ghillie.  The closer you can get is a real rush!

Off the ground.   I love being on their level.

I do it all, Stand, ground and stalk.  I was told a piece of advice from an ole buddy of mine longtime ago, that still hold's true, we was talking about an area we scouted and where to place stands, he said ground better and we debated the scent thing and all, he sumed it up with this, "I hunt deer, not tree's.  I am there to harvest game not watch a tree grow".

centaur

Ground pounding, but I occasionally climb a tree, too. But hunting them at eye level is a lot more fun, at least for me.

Lone wolf apha climbing treestand has been most effective for me.  Quiet and rarely in the same tree twice--keeps em guessing.Gound hunting is definately more fun, but in WI and VA the mobile tree hunt puts meat in the freezer and provides for large taxidermy bills.

Maybe if you took better care of your longbow. Those whitetail's wouldn't run off w/ it(LOL)

I would go with what ever style hunting you have done in the past. I almost always hunt from a tree stand, but made a ground seat last year and plan to hunt from the ground some this year. I like hunting from trees but the older I get the more the ground hunting seems appealing.

In a tree stand most of the time, but have been sitting on the ground more and more.

I hunt off the ground and in trees. Remember you don't have to be in a tree to kill a deer

Brock

prefer the ground but do have a couple tree stands set up as well....

I've always preferred stalking to tree stands, but it's much more productive in the woods I hunt, from the trees.
I can count on one hand the deer I've killed on the ground over the past 30 years. Out of stands...it's been a lot with the longbow.

I think hunting from both tree and ground should be fun, Done both with a rifle and had them 8 yards away with both. Just a little skiddish about the bow hitting some branches or the stand.

Right now my favorite is the ground. Usually I let the spot dictate what method I use though. Sometimes a Treestand is the way to go and sometimes not.

Pop-up blinds are not for me.

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

JCJ

I sit in a blowdown on the ground downwind of where I expect the deer to travel. I don't wear camo or even paint my face like a commando.

Flatstick

I let the deer movement and weather predict the method, doesn't matter the type of bow. My ghillie suit and tree stands all get a work out during season. Don't be afraid or too hard headed to adapt, whitetails have for years !!

kennym

Its all good, whatever it takes in the one particular spot.

Taken many more from treestands tho...

Fred had a pretty good take on it too,

If you wanna see deer - walk...

If you wanna kill deer - sit...

Probably true for many folks, includin me!  :D
Stay sharp, Kenny.
