The Kanati Slim Jim is a 4 arrow quiver. Nothing technical......its what our customers ask for.

I carry a Ace Hex Blunt tipped arrow as my fourth arrow (in the "rider" position) of my Slim Jims as a "just in case" and love that option. I should be posting some pics of my Dual Arc (mounted) later today.

I've been purposely "playing around" with my Dual Arc Slim Jim Quiver, (and talking to John on the phone a couple times), just to familiarize myself with all it's options and choices. Right now I can't draw my bow Blackie to full draw, because of my recent illness. So I figure I'll use the time to put the quiver through it's paces in regards to mounting/placement. In other words I've had it on and off my bow a number of times, in different ways - and we are now "close friends" - LOL.  For one thing, it is so easy to put on and take off, that it's a pleasure to do. Another thing, there are so many small (and large) variations possible - and they all look and feel good. As John assured me, "There is no really right or wrong way to adjust this quiver to your personal likes and style." However, there are a few "tricks", or tips, that will help us getting the optimum out of it. John plans to include a sheet of those hints with his new Dual Arc quivers - but as I said at the beginning, some of us just can't wait - LOL

I think that so far, the way I have mine right now, for my style, my bow, my arrows, and my likes and dislikes is probably the way I will want mine mounted on Blackie. Of course I will know better after I build back up with lighter bows (and exercise) and then get to shooting Blackie on a regular basis again. In the meantime here are some pics of my Dual Arc Slim Jim mounted on Blackie, my Anneewakee Addiction , a 54" recurve. Hope they may help in visualizing, for others.

 

 

 

 

In my case, where I have an extra short bow, and long (31") arrows, it's obvious how the variable adjustments available with the 2 "arcs" is a real boon in choices. I happen to choose to have one of the mounting posts on the Belly side of the bow, and the other one on the Back of the bow.

You may also notice some of the neat little features that make this quiver special, over and above the adjustment features. Such as, the bow is pictured hanging from the hanger ring that is a part of the quiver hood, in all of the pics. Also the holding straps are fashioned with a "belt-like" tip that allows you to tuck it in the end hole of the strap for security and neatness of the tips (I love that, and it wont come out on it's own). I know I will find even more things to really like about this quiver, just as I did with my original Slim Jims, and all of those features are still here in this one. BTW, I didn't weigh them while I had them off but I would swear this Dual Arc is a tad lighter than the original Slim Jim.

In my opinion, John has a real winner here to offer us - again.

LOL - don't know that I'd go that far but glad you like 'em anyway. I was pretty pleased with how they came out. Wish I could shoot it already but it seems that I've gone into "wet noodle" phase.

  Thanks for those pics and i HAVE A 56" Hoots recurve (Matter of fact it's on his website in the pic of six hanging by the rapids)I call it my Chocolate moose but your picof just where to put the straps really helped me cause I just got a new last year design of the Slim Jim quiver yesterday and it's all black as well...I like it and if at all possible Bernie can you show any pics or p.m. me just where and how you put your old er style Slim Jim on blackie?  Thanks and God Bless!

I can do even better, Keefer, as i also have a 56" (made by Hoots)Anneewakee Addiction ("Brownie") with the older Slim Jim on it too. It may take today or tomorrow before I can get the pics to you though - but I will do it.

No hurry Bernie I appreciate what ya have posted in the past and that has helped me on my decision on getting another Kanati...I now have three sets of F.D.S. straps so I can switch to the older traditional hood or the Slim Jim for my 2 blades on several different bows if I wanted to...Now I'm going to make a quiver hanger out of something to attach to my slim jim so I can hang it like the new design has! John you better make something with that "Erector Set" maker jig to add to the old style?          You can name it the "Hitch Hiker" !

LOL, I think that's what they call the fourth arrow holder arrangement on the Slim Jim, Keefer. Maybe he could call it the "Stowaway"    

Keefer (and others) here are pics of my 56" Anneewakee Addiction Recurve, "Brownie" with the original Slim Jim (which was/is a fine quiver in it's own right) mounted on it. I took the pictures the same way as I did my 54" "Blackie" with the (new) Dual Arc Slim Jim (above), for your comparison purposes. Only difference is the sun was a little brighter/hazier today - LOL.

The secret to setting it up is to keep the strap close to the riser and away from the fades for good flight is that correct? Lee Hoots explained this to me when I bought a new Traditional Kanati with the Fast deploy straps and the Slim Jim I just got also has the F.d.s. straps on them....Bernies pics show's me I set mine up correctly and I thank you for those good photo's Bernie...John really builds a nice quiver and the leather work is top notch and very detailed craftmanship....Those pro angle bars are strong built but liteweight ...  

Yep - I think John would agree, that's probably one of the most important things about mounting them IMO. You don't want anything interfering with your limb action.

Had an appointment with the civillian eurologist today:

Couldn't have went more like I wanted it to if I had choreographed it myself - the Dr.s appointment with the urologist that is. CLEAR BILL OF HEALTH, keep taking meds until gone - wait a couple weeks, then go have the base run a test for him. After that one more office call with him about 30 days from now - to make sure everything is still clear. He sees no problem at this point.

Bernie, Glad to here that things are going well! Hope your enjoying the Dual Arc, put mine on my new Addiction ILF and was able to get a little shooting time in yesterday afternoon. Man that is an awesome setup for sure! Can't hardly wait for the season to open,

Don't know if I'll be able to make it to Sissipahaw in August. If I'm not helping John at the shop that day I may be at the Frogman Shoot to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
