"Neal...is this heaven?" "No Piute but we are dam close". Top of the Mtn in Medicine Bow Nat Forest.

Another interesting thing is the way the feathers get slammed forward at impact. A lot of mine are getting so badly frazzled that I have to manually smooth them back after shooting. In this set of frames, even the newer feathers that recover fully after impact are still violently disrupted momentarily.

What does it take to be able to shoot super-slo-mo video like this?  Expensive?  Seems like it would give a huge amount of insight to a person who is having tuning issues.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Very cool video. I noticed the same thing with the feathers Bladepeek.

I know he showed a tuned shaft and a very weak shaft, but did he show a very stiff shaft ? Did I miss something ? Wanted to see how bad a stiff shaft bounced off the sight window and shelf....  :dunno:

That is interesting...

You think it's that violent with ALL setups?  I've never filmed my setup, but those look like noodle arrows on heavy limbs to me?

I suspect that with this recurve it would likely not be a problem.

Longbow yes, recurve not so much.  ?

Yep, I forgot about that lt-m-grow..... recurves can shoot a much wider spine range than a longbow and most are cut past center. Be pretty hard to get a too stiff spine for that 70lb recurve I bet.

Still would like to see a slo mo of a too stiff arrow though.....  :archer2:

Great video! You are right people just starting out should make sure not to just pick up any arrow and shoot it. Also they should inspect their arrows for any deformities before you you shoot.
