Mahaska Bows?

Anyone have any experience with these bows? I just got off the website and I like the looks and price of the bows. I haven't seen any in the classifieds and don't hear much about them here. Don't know if that's good or bad.

I have had 2 of his longbows,great shooters and I would not hesitate getting another.

There are a few on here, and everytime i see someone with one in there signature, i PM them about it. I am really interested in one of his flatbows. I will be posting a wanted ad when I get some money saved up. I really want to try one. Oh, and call him. He is a great guy.

I had one of hid recurves. Excellent Craftsmanship. Great speed and very smooth. One drawback is teeth shattering handshock, at least on mine. It was set-up per bowyers directions.

Hate to hear about the hand shock. If the bowyer is on here, I'd love to hear from you. I saw on his website he splits his time between Iowa and New Mexico. Anybody know when he's in Iowa? I would consider a road trip to shoot a few.

My flatbow is very smooth to shoot and the longbow I had, had a nice mellow bump on release. they both are very good shooters, stable and quiet.

I just received one via a trade, IMO they are as fine of shooter as you will find, and the craftsmanship is second to none. Thinking about a flatbow here in the near future.

I have one of his recurves and love it! it has been my go to bow for the past two years and will continue to be so. I've shot 3 different recurves that he has made and non of them had any handshock. He's in Iowa right now and the reason I know is because he is building me a Flatbow with the same specs as my Recurve. Give him a call, Kent is a great guy!!!!!!

i had on a few years ago it was a very good bow. it was just to much weight for me so i sold it.

I've owned two of Mahaska Flatbows,,, a 1pc and a 2pc takedown. I found them both very shooter friendly. I would still have them but one was to heavy and the other was to light (61# and 40#s) were it not for that I would have keeped the 2pc for sure.... I probably should have keeped the 40#er it was a blast on flying targets.... They are also very clean under close inspection. No glue lines and finished very well.

I owned one of Kent's recurves a few years back--sold it because it was too heavy for me to shoot well (my fault--ordered it too heavy). The bow itself was flawless, great workmanship.

Moleman, what wood is that? I like it. I also like the Cedar limbs on Kindor's flatbow. Anybody else wanna share some photos and opinions of the Mahaska's?

Want2no, this is just an educated guess, but after reviewing the Mahaska site, Walnut limbs W/ Shedua riser.

Here's a couple more pics of the cedar. You have to call him to talk to him, last I knew he didn't own a computer and had no interest in getting one. His work is flawless and all three Mahaska's I have spent time with were excellent shooters. This is one of my favorite bows

I would post a photo of my Mahaska longbow but I cannot figure out how to make it 640 by whatever. Mine is a cocobolo riser with southwest juniper limbs. I like mine...and I am a recurve guy...if I had the dough I would have Kent make me a matching recurve.
