I was lucky enough to win the bid on the St. Judes auction this year for a Bow build my Chad Holm. I got a PM this mourning that the bow has been glued up. Chad is off to the Longbow Safari in Idaho and will finish it up when he gets back. I'm having him build me something really different this time. A 64" longbow, black glass on the back, gray glass on the belly, bubinga riser and it will be a dual shelf so I can go with either hand. It will have overlays front and rear with matching tips and will be 43# @ 29". This is gonna be really neat!!

Can't wait to see that gray glass belly. Dual shelves? I can't shoot well with one, 2 would be MORE than twice as bad.

I have wanted to try left hand for a while.....I'm left eye dominate and have shot right handed for a long, long Time. So, this will be chance to have it both ways at a low poundage to work my way into it! And for those shots on the 3/D range that you could do better if you were the other hand, I can give it a go!

Chad's bows look, feel and shoot the way bows are supposed to!
Put simply, that man simply has it flat figured out.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I just picked up one of Chad's longbows at the Rapids archery shoot.  I got a 64" Goshawk that is 46# @ 28".  This is the first longbow I have had since I was a kid and I already shoot it better than my recurve.  Chad builds a very nice bow.
