Never used them either.

Bill

Bowwild

I haven't needed them.  I did buy some for some VPA 175 grain broadheads I bought and thought about using.

BigJim

They can protect the end of the shaft, but are unnecesarry.

Jim Wright

As the other replies indicate they are not "needed" but the broadhead adaptor rings made for them provide a nice tapered transition between the broadhead base and the shaft diameter. Using them certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

ArrowAtomik

I prefer to foot these with Aluminum myself... so no.

beetlebailey1977

Very tough arrows.....no need.

I bought the adaptors, but didnt like how they fit to my heavy field points (left a step). I put them back in the box and footed my shafts with aluminum. Ive hit pretty hard stuff that Ive ruined other arrows and these things are amazing. They are a bit heavy for carbon shafts, but so far I like em.

TxAg

I foot mine with aluminum and can't break one...and I try to break them occasionally.

longbow565

Same as Tx except I try to break them ALL the time. Toughest arrow after footing I have ever owned.

I just got a dozen 400's.

Can't wait to set them up

Bill Carlsen

If you foot them with an aluminum shaft that is 5/16 (20XX) most every bh adapter or screw in broadhead fits perfectly and toughens up the shaft. And it's much cheaper.

As far as I can tell the best use for the broadhead adapters is for getting 5/16 and up field points out of bag targets.

I use them with 175 gr, field points. I grind them down to fit perfect with the points. I use my bench sander.  If you shoot into a bag target you have use them with 175gr tips. You can't pull them out of the target.
