Drove up to the San Pedro Parks wilderness area today to have a picnic with my wife and to do a bit of stump shooting.

It was still somewhat green up there but drying out quickly. Won't be long and they'll close the forests down.

The Las Vacas was so low that the fish had a hard time finding a place to hide

Abby had to check out  my group. I think she had more fun than I did. Never seen such a big smile on a dog.

Good group just a bit to the right. I know it's an ugly bow but its all I have to shoot right now.

Thanks for the tour. And a bow that shoots that good needs no excuses for looks!!!
Is that a WARF with longbow limbs?

Brianlocal3 it's a chopped up darton excel compound riser with a set of limbs I took off a 3-piece longbow I built. Around 68" and in the low 40's. The original bow had a 14" riser and was in the low 50s. The excel riser is 20" end to end and I kept the rockers that were used with the compound limbs and ground the pins off of them. They make a flat base for the limbs to set on and I can adjust the limb bolts to play with the tiller like an ilf bow. I had to add spacers to each side of the limbs to make them fit and stay straight in the riser.Something to shoot while I build a new style wood riser and limbs. Do like how this one shoots.

Sounds like fun! Good shooting, also! You are right, they are going to close the forest and BLM, here also, if the weather does not change drastically.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the bow's history... I really enjoyed the bow's history. I shot for Darton 20 years ago and their rep hated that I shot the Excel due to that fact that it was 1/2 price of the "Lightening" but I loved the Excel. I may have a set of rockers if you ever need them let me know.

BenBow

Thanks Ben I'll keep that in mind. Did a lot of chopping on that old riser. Had to cut off the built-in overdraw and had a friend machine out the slots to cut some of the weight.
