What arrows should I get?

I have 400 Easton axis right now with 100 gr broadheads. I use 400 gr arrows because I heard they get better penetration since they are smaller, but now I'm hearing that heavier arrows get better penetration because of kinetic energy and momentum or something like that. So should I get heavier arrows or just get heavier broadheads or does it even matter?

Rock 'N Bow

It depends on your set up. What kind of bow? What is the poundage and draw length? How long are the arrows?

My draw weight is 50# at 28in. I haven't got the arrows yet because I'm waiting to see what everyone sais so I'm not sure how long they will be.

Since you have some time before season I would pick an arrow you like and order an arrow test kit and a field point test kit. Get everything from 100-300gr. and have some fun finding what works best for you. Shoot for a total weight or a head weight you like and go from there tuning to the bow.

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

A .400 should be a good match for a bow at that weight, particularly if you use heavier points.  I'd imagine you'd be able to tune those with 200 grain points, moving your rest out a smidge will let you go even heavier.
