I currently have a RER XR, an Eaglewing Talon II, and a Stalker Static.  I have owned a static Kempf KS and a Dryad Epic ILF.  All are super bows but to me the RER XR is a level above with the Stalker Static right there also.

Peckerwood

Static tip bows are my favorite recurve. I have owned or shot Dryad , Ballistik , RER , and Border. They were all nice shooters. I am currently enjoying a set of Border Hex 6 limbs. The Border limbs are in a class all of their own. They actually loose lbs./ in. of draw between 27 - 30 in. Real SMOOOOOTH.
NO matter where you go there you  are !

Here is one tip on my Saluki Turk.

Here is the Bow, Strung.

The new Stalker static is a wonderful bow!

I was able to test shoot a Stalker static at the CTAS High Country Shoot over the weekend.  I was totally amazed at how fast it shot (compared to my bow), smooth and quiet.  Also workmanship was top notch.  I may be ordering one very soon.

I'm not going to get into the "mine is faster than  yours" game here, but I just picked up an RER XR 3-Piece from another Trad Ganger on the classifieds.

Since I got shut down shooting in my back yard, I've only had a chance to shoot it in my shop (7 yds max).

My first impression is OMG is this thing fast!!! Seems like the arrow leaves the string and appears in the target at the same time. Love it!

John Fazio's Ballistick.  He made an awesome bow.
Life is short.  Shoot the good arrows first.

A few have mentioned the new ACS RC. I have owned literally dozens of bows from off the shelf to the fully customized, but the Orion ACS RC from Dryad is my first static recurve. I received the bow back in March but have had shoulder problems and not been able to shoot it but a few shots until the last few days. The bow is very impressive in that it is very stable(something I was skeptical of when I saw the radical recurved limbs)and it really sends a heavy arrow down range. I have been shooting some 650 and 730 grain shafts which at 40 yards will definitely make most bows look slow. It is 60# at my draw and if this static is representative of others, I am impressed to say the least and it takes a lot to impress me.

I've only shot  South's static, but I gotta say I love it!

Shoot and own 2 arroyos.have shot the rer xr and the kymp  static tip.Arroyo is the smoothest and fastest. Its light weight is compensated by using the Kanati bow quiver and makes it even more stable in the hand.I try to stay practiced with what I will be using in the field.I also own 2 Schafer silver tips and the arroyo ranks up there with them as far as being smooth.

My dryad epics are on the way!!!  cant wait to try them out.  Should make my titan a nice hunting set up if I shoot good with them

Raging Waters,
Based on your experience, which is the fastest: Ibex, Dryad, or Border? I am in the market for my firt static and yes, speed is important to me. Thank you.

There ya go Clint,
The hex series limbs are the most static.
These are hex 5s.
I have a pair of hex 6's which are even more pronounced for my Bear TD, but cant shoot them yet as it turns out my riser is twisted, busy looking for another...Ahhhh
Load early in the draw and very smooth, almost feels like a let off as you approach full draw.
You wont be disapointed if you get one.
Hunting was hazardous, but at least it guaranteed the freedom of the individual.

There is no doubt that the onset of farming saw the end of leasure for the majority of people, who were destined to toil in the fields.

Saluki's can be the fastest due to design .... And you can use a lighter arrow. If speed is the goal. Over 230 FPS is quite doable.

Border's will launch heavier arrows with great speed. The 200 FPS mark is doable. I had a Black Douglas that was 50# and super fast.

John Fazio's Ballistick boasted a true 215 FPS with a 10 GPP arrow. Unfortunately, John passed away.

RER uses the same limb design as Fazio, so they are very fast. I have had almost no experience with RER.

Both Dryad and Sixby's Static Tip bows are crowd favorites. I have never shot either one.

My 2 cents

How about the Quik Styks?? I have always heard that they are very fast but I have never shot one?

Matt: I have never shot a bow in my life , stickbow that is that shot 215 at 10 gpp as you have said that the Fazio bow does. I';m from MO . Bro.I'm not questioning your word or integrity but I sure question that figurel

First those are glass bows from what I understand and to the best of my knowledge there is not even a double carbon recurve shooting that speed today. I know what the super fast bows today are shooting and that is in the 205 to 207 area max at 10 gpp.  That is when the bows are accurately tested with a Hooter Shooter and double chronographs ect/

God bless you all, Steve
