I was out on some private property cutting shooting lanes for a few stands this afternoon. The mornings are getting colder, acorns are dropping and Fall is in the air!

Well I'm officially 30 now, and I got a sweet birthday present, got around 800 acres of private land to hunt this year about 3 minutes from my house. first time I've had private land to hunt that actually holds deer. Plus lots of squirrel hunting for me and my dog. woo hoo, can't wait to see all my buddies again at the camp.

Asked the biggest farmer in my area for permission, lucky you didn't make it or I probably wouldn't have had time to go. I was wrong on how much property it is, it's more like 1200acres. lol so pumped.

I was thinking of doing the same kind of thing recently. I thought I should just drive east a bit and stop at any old farm that looked big and ask.

check your auditors website and pick out land and find the owners house and ask.

Plat books are also sold at the county court house. They show a map of the county with landowners name and amount of acerage.

2 weeks away from season opener, everbody got there arrows ready broadheads sharp and clothes washed?

Still have some sharpening to do, but the arrows are ready.

I have a few arras I can use but I need to build my other dozen, and I need to sharpen atleast 4 broadheads. And I have a whole cedar chest of wool that needs to be cleaned. lol so yeah I'm totally not ready. Plus with a new place to huntI have no idea where the deer are.

You have to get the overhead views off of Google. That will get you in the general right area to start out.

I think I've finally found campground K on Google earth.  Now I just have to figure out how to get that into a usable form. I'll be there in about 45 days.  Is anyone else planning on getting there earlier than the 3rd? Looks like I'll arrive on the 31st or 1st.

Just follow 83 south out of Cumberland and over on T13 is area K.

I  may be out the second, in the evening. I'll set up and hunt sat sun, then go home and come back wed after work.
