I've fallen in love with the stick and string all over again. Tonight while practicing at dusk there was a moment when it all came together just beautifully.
I'm returning to traditional archery again after shooting compound the last five years and a recurve 13 before those. Many deer have fallen to my wheel bow but none will taste as good as what this fall brings. My desire to simplify my chaotic life of work, over-time work, father hood, husbandry and work around the home has led me to an epiphany. The arrow flies true now.
To say I'm exited to be here is an understatement you all can identify with. I welcome the fall and a chance to apologize to nature for my unbecoming the hunter I once was.

Just curious, is it that Stewart that got you?
Love those bows!

that stewart bow is a dream it's the first a longbow I shot in over 15 years at my first 2 shots at 20 yards were dead on. I just need to get away from technology and busy everything. it's ironic because technology has simplified the aiming part of hunting. there are hundreds of dollars of gadgets on my compound bow that allow me to hit the target every single time. that is no longer on thing to me. we've bastardized the beautiful things we hold dear. being able to look at a hair or a crease on an animal and with your mind's I put an arrow there is a beautiful thing.

It is at the point when we realize that we do not need to depend on technology to reach our goals, that we find that the journey is where the experiance really comes from.

I love this passion, I love this mindset.  May it serve you well.

I am here for the same reason, If there is no spirit in it, no connection, I don't want anything to do with it.

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
