There is a blessing for the grandfather's that have two grandsons that have a heart for archery. This old reprobate has been blessed.

Yesterday dawned overcast and gloomy but Jacob and Ben's spirits were not dampened because we were headed east to the TBOT gathering in Tyler. A glass of chocolate milk, a Krispy Kreme (breakfast of champions ya' know) and we were out the door. An hour and a half trip down I-20 and we were at the Tyler Archery Club. We spent some time at the practice range to loosen up. Ben had some disappointment there.

But soon that was shaken off and we headed out to the course.

We made a couple of new friends Steve on the left and Jessie on the right. They had driven over 5 hours from Louisiana to come to the gathering.

30 targets later and we were ready lunch. Charcoal burgers, chips, 7-UP and there's a Snickers bar in there somewhere.

After lunch, we met the The Northeast Texas TBOT Representative, Gene Bohannon. He presented us with the TBOT Medallions signifying a successful outing.

Where was I during the festivities? Don't you know that PawPaw is supposed to chauffeur and take pictures for these adventures?

Thanks for posting Ric...looks like y'all had a great time together.

Thanks for sharing Danny.  What a great shoot to go to with the grandsons on Father's Day weekend.  Ben sure is growing up quick.  Is that a new bow I saw in his hand?

Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

Looks like a great time Danny! I really wanted to come up to this shoot but my wife made some other plans for yesterday. I got to keep her happy too if I want to keep going to all the shoots that I go to.

Tell Ben and Jacob that Bisch said Hi!

Hope to see you in Waco next weekend!

Bisch - Both boys have already made plans to be in Waco next weekend. Ben asked on the way to Tyler if you were going to be there.

Rob - That is a bow that Ben "took over" from his sister. Her boyfriend bought her a COMPOUND and she abandoned the longbow. It is Hill Bobcat, 60" 30# @ 28" and Ben shoots it well. Did you notice the "Green" arrows in his side quiver? If you will be in Waco next week, we'll need to talk.

I'll be there Danny.  I only count 4 arrows in the quiver. If he's going to need a higher spine please let me know if there's something in my inventory that I can deliver at the shoot for him, or if I can build a set for him this week to match his new poundage.

Danny, I think you may have visited with my son Chad without knowing it. He said he talked to someone about donuts sounded like it was you. Bill, are you interested in the bow trade.

Great pictures, that was a very fun shoot... That Jesse is a hoot to shoot with, we made a round with him at Chester... I saw your Grandsons but I guess I missed meeting you. Happy Father's Day!!!

Danny, Jesse and I had a great time shooting with you and your grandsons. Those boys sure kept us entertained. Good luck to you and those boys. Steve Raggio

I see my crew in the background of the first picture!  It was a great time for us as well.  By the way, I really enjoyed seeing Jessie slap the wet limb above him and giving someone a nice shower!

Was gonna make that shoot but stomach flu got me. Couldn't even draw my bow saturday
