My Dad who is actually my Stepfather but he has been my only real Dad.  My mom divorce before I was 4 years old and us kids (4 of us from my mom's first marriage) never saw much of my real Father due to the nature of these things. So my stepfather stepped in and has been Dad to us for over 47 years.

When he was in his twenties and thirties he used to shoot a lot of NFAA tournaments and was quite successful as I remember. But as he aged work, bills, and other responsibilities took priority and it has been well over 40 years since he has shot a bow.

During the years that he hunted and shot in tournaments I remember growing up day dreaming from the stories I read in the archery magazines that he had around the house (back then all traditional). I would imagine me shooting like him and looked for the day when I could hunt with a bow like Dad shot.

Well, I'm 51 years old now and have been hunting with Traditional gear since 1989 (It's still a miracle that I ever kill anything     :clapper:

Sorry for being longwinded here but it been a good day, and hope to spend some time with my Dad seeing him shoot and picking up some tips!
Everything I have and have become is due to the Lord and his great mercy.

John,
That was a great video and it's like riding a bike you never forget...He had good form and looks like you were around 18/20 yards and I would say he still has it...I even saw a smile like a kid just being introduced to archery the first time! Happy Fathers day and take him out again today if ya can...God Bless and thanks for sharing!  :clapper:
