All,

On the search for a quality daypack.  I'm 6'3" and the normal run of the mill stuff is all too short.  Need good suspension.  Suggestions?

Thanks for any and all....

I picked one up this past winter, and have only used it for 1 hog hunt in S Carolina.  I have nothing but good to say about it.  I bought a used one because I couldn't justify paying the full price, but after using it, I would say full price is worth it.

BTW, I'm 6'2" and 225, and much like you, everything at the big box stores seems to be made for a guy that is 5'9" or smaller.

From what I understand,If you buy it new they will make it to your size, even if it's on sale. I bought a Siwash on sale and they made it or custom adjusted it to my size, I'm one of those guys that is 5'9".

you might check with Angelo at Bison Gear, He makes a quality product and he's also a sponser. I've got a Lemhi and a Haversack and am very pleased with both, good luck with your search.

I have an ebrlestock X2 and it works great for me. I'm 6'2" and 225. I used it last year for the first time and love it.

kc, I made a mistake, the Kifaru packs are not on sale! However, they are making a new Spike camp called the Legacy, so check it out.

They redesigned it last year with a new frame, made it a pound lighter and able to carry 80lbs. Really like the narrow profile and being able cinch the bag down as flat as possible, makes going through reprod a lot better.

It's a true 2300cu, plenty big enough for a daypack.

Try to get to a good outfitting shop and try out a bunch.  REI is great for that stuff.  They'll fit the pack for you, load it with sand bags, and you can roam around the store with it.  They also have plenty of styles in stock, so if one doesn't fit right you can switch.  Lifetime warranties on everything as well.

Eberlestock X2. I am 6-2 195, but the pack is at its maximum shoulder strap.
I like my packs to ride low as possible and the hip belt around the top of my pelvis rather than above it like a lot of people wear them which is too high IMO. Then its a waist belt not a hip belt right? ;0)

Eberlestock X2. Got one last season, fits me very well. I'm 6'3" 220.
