I have a 58" Super Shrew Delux that I am currently trying to re-tune. I would like to get a new string and new arrows, but am having difficulty settling in on the brace height. My question to other shrew owners, what brace height have you found to work best?  The bow shoots well at just about any BH, with slight differences in noise and feel. It currently has a very large and heavy string on it. 18 strand(?) fast flight material Flemish twist(3/32 diameter string, 1/8 diameter serving), so I am uncertain what brace to order the new string at. I intend on getting an 8 or 10 strand Flemish.  How low of a brace is too low?  Any help is much appreciated.

Mine are set at 7 3/8 for my 60" Super Shrew and 56" Super Shrew Classic Hunter. I've shot them as low as 7 1/8 too out of my 58" Super Shrew Samurai.  I like the 8 strand 450plus strings that Ron LaClair sells for his bows. It's a good performer and extremely quiet.

I have my 58" Samurai bh set at 7 1/8" and my 54" Classic Hunter settled in at 7 1/4".  I also am using the strings that Ron sells.

Get a "Shrew" string from Ron.  I've tried other big name strings on my Shrews and the Shrew strings have been the quietest.

Thank you everyone for your helpful information. I emailed Ron, and he sent me the shrew 'owners manual', that stated 7"-7 1/2" brace height recommended. I also called and ordered a shrew string from him. Thanks again.

I default to Ray on all things technical....he thinks way better than I. My Shrew's are "dead thump" quiet, I use the strings Ron sells.
