What effect does a bow quiver on shooting a bow with one on? Does it make it shoot like your arrows are stiffer or weaker? Being that you have like a counter weight on the side making the bow torque one way more. The reason I'm asking is I'm thinking about putting one for hunting.

Easy to get used to & no discernable problems.., until yout take it off! Attached quiver w/arrows weighs pounds. Definitely affects w/o it again only for awhile.

Depends a lot on how heavy/large the quiver is, how many arrows you put in it, where you attach it to the limbs/riser etc.  Overall, the greater mass they give the bow makes it a bit easier/steadier to hold and more solid/less hand shock at the shot.  A light grip on the bow takes care of any potential sideways bow torque the quiver might impart. It can have an effect if you shoot open hand.  I've never needed to change my arrow set-up as a result of adding a bow quiver. Been using them for about 25 years.

I sometimes shoot my bows with the quiver off, but I mostly shoot with them on.  I see no discernable difference in arrow flight/tuning either way.  I do realize a better shooting platform with the quiver on.  Less handshock, quieter bow, steadier hold.  I won't shoot a 3D without my quivers on! I sometimes shoot at my backyard range bare bow as it just feels neat to shoot them naked sometimes! So light and lively. Regardless, I shoot 3D to make me a better hunter (shooter), first and foremost... so I'm in the camp that you should shoot with what you will hunt with.  The bow just feels more stable with the quiver on.

I have never weighed them, but I shoot the Anneewakee (Kanati) 4-arrow quivers and don't think the quiver weighs much more than a pound loaded... if that.  My arrows are 460 grains times four is 1840 grains.  There are 7000 something grains in a pound.

I agree with Manitou...also I have a lakota style quiver that I made from elk hide that I love the look and feel of, but a quiver mounted on the bow is just way handier for hunting.

If the quiver is kept close to the fades, they don't effect the bow. IMO

I cant tell a difference in "tuning", but my Kanati is quieter with it on there. Mine is a small 4 arrow EFA for reference. I like the extra weight on a bow this slim, and being to the non shelf side seems to help with my follow through.

I shot with a Great Northern side mount quiver and it really threw off the balance of my Predator. I have a Big Jim's that I shoot on a Kodiak Hunter. Nice and light 5 arrow i believe. Actually quiets down the bow. I now use a Cat or Home brewed tube quiver with my Predator. She prefers no bow quiver.

2 arrow quiver for me, feels like nothing is attached to my bow. I always have my Bison Gear pack with the additional back quiver I will carry a couple extra broadhead tipped arrows, and a few blunts in.

I agree with manitou1, as well.  I like shooting the bow with no quiver, but even though my adapted bow quiver throws the balance out of whack a bit, I seem to shoot better with it on.  I notice no difference in tuning my arrows.
