I know bareshafting is the way to do it..But can someone explain the process. I am shooting a 45lb Martin Savannah.. I have .500 Spine Beman MFX shafts here. Also.. should I be using 4 or 5" feathers?

Start out full length. Bare shafting can be frustrating if you don't already have pretty good form.

Also big long feathers will cover a variety of sins in your form so start with 5 inch. After you have shot for awhile and feel more comfortable, then experiment.

I'd say either 4-4", or 3-5", probably no real need for 4-5".

bareshaft isn't the only way to go.
There is paper testing.

Not trying to start a "which is better" conversation here guys...just that another form of fine tuning does exist.

I don't know much about carbon shafts but tuning is the same.

Try the weight of tip you want to shoot on a full length shaft....and go from there.
