I have a huge roll of leather a friend gave me. It seems to be upholstery leather but it is pretty thick and very soft. I've thought of making a back quiver from this and just doubleing the leather. Haven't decided on a final design as of yet so keep the photos coming.

Benjy that is a beaut. You may have to make me a copy of that pattern. My favorite bow has a crocodile grip.

I love alligator and crocodile. I think a nice alligator quiver would look just right.

I may have to get a alligator license too for Hill Hog Hunt next year in Georgia.

Very very nice quiver you made.

Brother Shinken gave me this one and I like it.RC

You guys are giving me some great ideas. I tryed a couple of back quivers years ago and they were like carrying your arrows in a 8" PVC pipe. Arrows rattled around and fell out every time I bent over. They were some of the kit leather quivers. The leather was too stiff and the quiver itself was real shallow.

Here's the first one I ever made and my favorite.

Do the broadheads do damage to these types of quivers ? Do they get dull being carried like this ? Thank you

Orion

Yes and yes.  However, the problem isn't severe and both can be mitigated.  Most quiver bottoms are built double thickness to keep arrows from poking through.  Lots of folks put various materials in the bottom of the quivers to keep broadhead blades from contacting each other and dulling.  That also quiets them and reduces the likelihood that they'll cut the leather on the side of the quiver.

ChrisM

With the right bottom damage is very little.  As far as sharpness of heads a quiver that collapses and doesn't let the arrows rattle will keep the heads sharp.

I was thinking of inserts llike you have in your golf bag to keep them apart.
