I have been watching for a couple of days a post on here about a "Mountainman" tv series. There were a few dozen replies and like the topic, none had anything whatsoever to do with traditional archery.
This site has a specific purpose and if we do not obey the rules we as members agreed to it is a short ride to get to where the other major traditional archery site is. Thank you moderators.

there is a guy making a self bow on the commercial for the show

barebow17

I posted about the guy making the selfbow on the thread. Looks like he will be using it in one of the shows.

I agree wholeheartedly......the Mods do a great job here.....BUT......as some others have already noted, this show does feature traditional archery!  Can't get much more traditional than crafting your own bow, then using it to take game.

I watched the post for a couple of days and a couple of dozen replies and must have missed something, never saw anything except "would or would it not be great to live like a mountainman" etc..
This morning I noticed it was closed and now it is gone completely. Again, thanks Moderators.

Rarely do main stream TV shows feature anything even remotely resembling traditional archery or bowhunting.......even the horn porn channels!

That's why I was kind of taken aback by a member calling for this thread to be closed.

Since one of the semi self-reliant individuals featured on this show makes a self-bow, then hunts with it, I would think that it may actually generate a bit of interest from members here.

Yea, I know.....too much thinking on my part......   :deadhorse:

Hayslope.....I think the problem is that maybe there is going to be talk about it, during that episode....the main dialog is not about tradbowhunting.....and that there was no talk of trad bowhunting on that thread.

I don't really know about the show, since I don't have time to watch it.....so I could be wrong.  But every time a movie or car commercial that comes out with a bow in it somehow generates a thread here.

So, to be consistent, we have to treat them all the same unless it really is about TradBowhunting.

It the long run, if we don't talk about this show here, its really no big deal.

OK....back to the last day of the auction....    :campfire:

Tony, with all due respect you only quoted the second sentence in my last post and by itself it is a bit out of context.  I started by saying "I watched the post for a couple of days and a couple of dozen replies and must have missed something, never saw anything but would or would it not be great to live like a Mountainman".
Apparently someone mentioned a selfbow after dozens of posts concerning the feasibility of living like a Mountainman. If this were a site dedicated to blackpowder arms and particularly Hawken rifles perhaps there is some relevance but it's not. Again, thanks Moderators.
