Well, we are getting back from the THIRD week, (Tall Tines Week) at Stickflingers. Four bears were taken. I only saw one bear during the first four sits, then things opened up and I saw 12 bears. One was a very tall boar, but I could not get a shot.On the following day I sat the same stand. There is much more to the story but, during the last 10 minutes of legal shooting time I had a sow with cubs and several young boars and small sows vacate the bait area. I got ready and listend to the various vocalizations of the bears as some went up trees and others ran out of there. Finally I saw the legs and then the body of a very tall and long bear coming out of the brush and walking quickly behind the bait. I got ready and reached full draw as he cleared two trees and started to go into cover in the direction of a wet sow that I had previously poured Smokeys sow in heat lure on her back. I'm not sure if he was after her or just cruzing through. I hit him pefrect broadside and got pass through with 750 gr arrow tipped with Woodsman Elite 250 gr. The 432 pound boar ran only 20 yards. The hide squared 8 feet, and the skull rough green measure just over 20 inches. I will talk more but have to take care of meat and hides. It was a great trip with a very good outfitter Ryan, and super cool hard working guide David. Thanks to all for a lot of fun.
Also the guys in camp were great and we all had fun, and we all had oportunities at huge bears in some form or another.  Mike

I'd heard rumors about that bear Mike, but the pictures are incredible!  What a beast!
From what I hear that isn't the only story that is coming back from Canada.  Looking forward to more.

Whip- Yes there are many more stories to come. We had 2 guys from Illinois, 2 from Michigan, and 2 from Iowa. Bears were moving prety good and all were looking for boars. I saw moose and some calves, and I even saw a bull elk one evening. Mike

Huge bear Mike.  Did you shoot him on elk rub? I heard rumors of an 8ft on that bait.  His head looks huge are you sure its not 21"  Mine right now is 20 1/16 thinking he will dry in the high 19s but 20 would be nice.  looking forward to all the stories from week 3..  Mike

No, Brian Wessel was hunting Elk Rub, but never saw anything mature. I got him on Determination on day 5. It was kind of slow for me at first.
No, his skull is less than 21inches, but I got it just over 20 green. It may hold over that. My friend Matt who hunted with us got one that was well over 21 inches. He had to switch to his compound bow, so I won't talk anymore about it on this site. It was a very good week.  Mike

Way to go Mike! Ryan has some giants there. My fat "shorter" wood tick lookin' bear finished up over 20". I can't wait until next year. I get to go back.   :campfire:

Littlebigman- Yes I saw that sow and her 3 cubs. I had to sit that tree on far side of the bait as well. I put in a few more steps to get higher in the tree. I had the big male come in to my left at 7:45, but right at that time an ATV drove down the trail next to the bait. The boar ran back in 40 yards and stood quiet as the machine drove on. He never came back to the bait that night. I could tell he was very tall and long. When he came in at last light, I knew it was most likely the same bear. The cubs were up in the trees 20 yards left of the main bait area because the sow ripped the steel barrel loose from the tree and drug it off that direction. The sow was to right of the bait and in the direction that the boar was headed until he met my arrow. I saw those cubs playing with your arrow as well. It had a steel blunt on Heritage shaft. I saw a bull elk near that area as well. Mike
