Only 15 days left to list items....and the listing forum will be CLOSED and the bidding will begin.

Unlike all years past, we have left the listing forum open, but not this year.  Every year folks seem to procrastinate and more and more folks start adding items to the listing forum AFTER the auction starts.  It has gotten to the point where its a big hindrance to those of us that are trying to run and keep the auction process smooth.

So, if you have an item to list, please do so before the 20th of this month.

Thank you for your consideration....

Terry, Can I list something and then go back to add pics later? I have a really cool item that I will not get in my hands until May 20th and cannot get good pics of until then. I also want to make sure he comes through and I have it for sure before I list it.

For those who have been asking, 2 "Robin Hood" hats have been placed up for auction along with a "Talking Buck" and an Oriole feeder(NIB) for the bird lovers.

Check out the St Jude auction forums.

I know you find a bunch of treasures that you will want to be bidding on.

I'm not Terry but I can answer your question....yes!

The items for this auction don't even have to be archery related, we just need to raise as much money as we can for the kids that need the services of St Judes.

I'll 2nd Mudd's comments:  St. Jude is the only time that non-archery, non-trad stuff is allowed to be posted and offered up. We've had "Chocolate Chip Cookies Wars", Pound Cake wars, household goods offered, old videos of movies, jewelry, Home Made Syrup, Honey, Beeswax...

If you want to share it, it can go up on the block. Somethings get more attention than others but that varies by the years and pics help, good descriptions help.

As Terry put it, late add-ins tend to get lost in the shuffle as we learn each forum and then "where'd that come from?" makes one stratch their head.

Terry, Good move!

If you listed a new shinny penny I bet it would bring a dollar for the kids. And every dollar counts. Its amazing the generosity of the Gang!

Please don't think I'm stupid selfish, but I'm curious.  Is there some way to use the value of an item donated as a tax write off?  Was thinking of donating a fairly expensive bow but would like to be able to spin it to the wife.

Mudd

I am almost positive that anything donated to any organization like St Judes can be written off on your taxes.

I bet we have an accountant or twelve on here that can answer your question.

I almost feel Like a pro at this IRS thing after this passed year. If I donate a $1500 Bow,All I can deduct is at the end of the year is materials and Labor. And all is based on the totals for the year, Total cost and material for everything that year,,, and believe me it feels like you did nothing to help to help anyone or your tax situation. The same thing for hunts,,, if they check and you try to write them off, you will pay taxes on that amount and probably a penalty to boot.

If you can prove the value, it can be written off. No different than donating to goodwill. I know you can also use that big auction site as a basis for the value of any used item that is donated to a charity.

I have an item I would like to post up for the auction but it needs a picture posted to it and I can not get photobucket to cooperate with me. Would anybody be so kind to add a pic to my post? I would appreciate it very much.
