Hey guys I got a new string and it has stretched to get back to my desired brace height I have to twist it. What are some problems with or potential problems that occur when a string is over twisted? What constitutes a string being over twisted?

One twist per inch is about the perfect length.I have strings that have more twist than I would like and do use them and they work fine though.Ideally I like 1 twist per inch or a tad more. You may possibly not impart as much energy to the arrow with an overtwisted string and its gonna be a smidgeon heavier than a string with less twists to maintain the proper brace height because of the additional uneeded length of the overtwisted string.

Add that its over twisted if it curls up on itself when removed from the bow. Also a skinny string with a lot of twists can take a while to settle back to length when the bow is restrung.
